The National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) supports a range of activities in the tradition of the scholarship of teaching and learning, including:

As part of our commitment to openess, educators and researchers outside of DCU and around the globle can participate in many of these activities. The NIDL team is always interested in supporting and contributing to research fora and related scholarly events in the area of digital, blended and online learning that may have wider benefits for the sector. We are also pleased to support as a formal editorial partner the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education which is now the No 1 ranked open access journal in the area. In 2020, the Journal was ranked 27th of all Q1 publications in the field of Education, with other impressive metrics presented in the following figure. Professor Mairéad Nic Giolla Mhichíl plays a key leadership role as co-Editor-in-Chief and Professor Mark Brown serves on the International Advisory Board, with other members of the NIDL team contributing as peer reviewers.
