    DCU Alumni Awards 2021

    In 2021, we celebrated the wonderful contribution and impact of our graduates across the world throughout the pandemic.

    We know our alumni contributed greatly to the response to Covid-19 in many ways. This ranged from our community volunteers, educators, frontline workers, government representatives, news presenters and reporters, researchers, scientists, technologists and many more who through their unique skills impacted so positively on society.

    Recently Retired Assistant Commissioner of An Garda Siochána



    Pat played a key role in setting up a Covid-19-specific, citywide strategic control centre in Dublin Castle, where he and his team proactively managed Covid-19 operations, internal resilience, and the effects and response to Covid-19 across the Dublin Region.

    Martin and his staff targeted remote learning and the distribution of family care packs, that reduced levels of isolation and maintained a vibrant connectedness between the school and home during the pandemic.

    Criostóir and his colleagues assisted the HSE during the pandemic by providing video consultation capabilities to GPs which meant that they could quickly adapt to the new environment that had rapidly developed.

    Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, Business Operations Consulting, Deloitte Ireland 



    Julieanne led and managed the rapid delivery of several customer facing digital services to support her client’s digital response during the pandemic. Along with her team, they ensured the successful delivery of a number of online services that provided rapid access to income support for citizens during a very challenging period for the country.

    Community Fundraising Manager at Focus Ireland & Co-Founder of Certified Proud



    Eve worked tirelessly with Focus Ireland to assist the homeless community throughout the pandemic. During this time she co-founded Certified Proud and was nominated for a Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year Award 2021.

    Rob delivered exceptional coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic through his role with Virgin Media Television.

    Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at the Department of Health



    Karen led the nursing workforce in Beaumont Hospital in their response to the Covid-19 pandemic as Director of Nursing.

    Recently Retired Director of Professional Standards & Education at Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hEireann (NMBI)



    Anne-Marie ensured student nurses contributed to the pandemic response by way of legislation, education and competencies, to become vaccinators in their own right.
