Pushing your Limits: Student Teachers' Erasmus Physical Education Stories
Susan Marron, Frances Murphy and Rachel Rafferty in the PE team organised the event Pushing your Limits: Student Teachers' Erasmus Physical Education Stories, in which primary student teachers presented their stories of their Erasmus experiences from 2021- 2022. They shared key messages which they will bring to their future teaching of physical education. The focus was on how they pushed their limits in situations to develop personally and professionally. Guest speaker Dr Karen Weekes, then told her story: ‘Building resilience: Lessons learnt from rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic'. She spoke about her incredible voyage as the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic. Karen's campaign #SHECANDO, aims to illuminate two of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically ‘gender equality’ and ‘life below water’, which focuses on the conservation of oceans and marine life.
