Beginners Painting Course

DCU Age-Friendly University is delighted to offer a 6-week Beginners Painting Course which artist Mary McCarthy will deliver.

Starting date: Monday 27th February 2023  

Time:  6 p.m ¨C 8 p.m 

Venue: Art Room No. FG24  at St. Patrick's Campus DCU

Cost: €60

This 6-week course is suitable for beginners and offers an introduction to painting in oils with the palette knife. 

The course will cover:

• understanding colour through the colour wheel, 
• mixing a limited palette, 
• practising the various strokes produced by the palette knife, and 
• learning the rules around composition and perspective. 

You will begin by producing some small paintings and work up to your masterpiece. 

Guaranteed fun and an enjoyable experience in a relaxed environment.

There will be limited supplies to get started. A suggested equipment list will be supplied at the end of the first week.
