AIkido is a non-violent Japanese Martial art. It was founded in the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba, also known as O-sensei. The techniques promote health, flexibility and develop the natural strength of the body. Aikido techniques blend with the attack, leading the energy in a circular motion into a throw or immobilization. It is suitable for men and women of all ages. DCU Aikido club is partnered with Dublin Aikikai Aikido. The club is non competitive and and organises various seminars throughout the year where a well known Sensei comes to Ireland to instruct classes
