DCU to work with French and Swiss partners in €1.6million Horizon Europe and HRB funded collaboration

Dr Stephen Behan will co-ordinate DCU's work with CHU Dijon, France University Hospital, INSERM Davy LAROCHE uB Dijon
University and UNIGE Geneva in a project work €240,000 in direct funding to the university.

This funding call aims to support the implementation of innovative person-centred health and care models addressing prevention strategies, with the key help of existing IT and digital technologies and services, as well as existing and emerging data. The ultimate goal is to improve health and care system dimensions such as quality, efficiency, equity, and sustainability.

The Health Research Board (HRB) participated in the THCS Joint Transnational Call 2024 to support Irish researchers to engage in transnational collaborative research in the field of health and care systems under the call entitled ¡°Innovate to Prevent: Personalised Prevention in Health and Care Services¡±.

Dr Stephen Behan has led a number of high profile and impactful research projects at Dublin City University, including the Moving Well Being Well initiative. Behan and his collaborators on the MWBW project were awarded the President's Award for Research in 2023.

Dr Behan has also recently worked with Dr Hannah Goss and Dr Michael Scriney from the School of Computing to secure funding to assess the efficacy of the Dublin Sport and Wellbeing programme.
