Postponement of Assessment Submission Portal is now closed

It will open again for Semester Two 2024/2025 on Monday 13th January 2025. 
If you are not in a position to submit or take your assessment when scheduled please submit Extenuating Circumstances (R30). 

Programme chair approval is not required for Extenuating circumstances.  Your completed Extenuating Circumstances form (R30) will be reviewed by your programme chair and approved by the relevant progression and award board (PAB). You will know the outcome of our application when you receive your exam results via the promulgation of results. 


Student Steps for submitting Postponement of assessments (R33)

1) Gather relevant supporting documentation for your personal circumstances.  

2) Fill out the "R33 Rationale form: Postponement of Assessment" detailing the reason for your application for postponement.

3) Discuss the rationale for your application with your programme chairperson . Secure approval from your programme chair (either by signature on the R33 form or via email) (Evidence of this will need to be attached to your submission) 

4) Once you have the following to hand you may proceed to fill in the below webform. 

  • R33 Rationale form for Postponement of assessment
  • Programme chair approval (Email or signature) 
  • Supporting documentation.

5) Follow the steps on the Submission portal.  Once you upload your documentation and press submit, you will receive an email confirming the receipt of your application for postponement by DCU

Submission Deadlines 2024/2025:

Two Weeks before the commencement of the relevant exam session i.e. Semester One, Semester Two or Autumn Resits

  • Semester One Modules - before 4.00pm on Monday 25th November, 2024. 
  • Semester Two Modules - before 4.00pm on Monday 7 April, 2025
  • Autumn Resits/Summer modules - before 4.00pm on Monday 14 July, 2025.
