External Examiners
External Examiners for Taught Programmes/Modules
The appointment of external examiners process, which comes under the remit of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (Registrar) is an important part of the University’s quality assurance system. External examiners play a vital role in the maintenance of academic standards for taught programmes and in ensuring fair assessment of students. The University ensures that there is consistency of standards across the University and adherence to all relevant University policies in its approval of standards across the University. The Academic Secretariat has responsibility for the management of the approval of External Examiners nominated by Schools/Faculties and considered by University Standards Committee, and for the administration related to External Examiners.
