Leaving Certificate Study Scheme
DCU Library is pleased to provide access to O’Reilly Library and Cregan Library for students preparing for their Leaving Certificate exams. The Leaving Certificate Study scheme will run from the 7th May until the 24th June 2025, full details about how to apply are listed below.

DCU Library's Leaving Certificate Study Scheme

DCU Library's Leaving Certificate Study scheme is open to sixth year Leaving Certificate students. It allows students to study in the O'Reilly Library on DCU's Glasnevin campus and Cregan Library on DCU's St Patrick's campus, Drumcondra.

The scheme is free of charge and runs from Wednesday the 7th May to Tuesday 24th June 2025.

 

To apply:

  • Read the library regulations below and complete this online application form
  • You will receive a confirmation email when you successfully submit your application
  • You will receive a second email when your application has been approved, which will contain information about when and where to collect your library access card
  • Students who are under 18 years of age are required to print this consent form and return it complete with a signature from a parent or guardian when collecting their library card 

 

Library Access Card

  • Each student is issued with a library access card they can use in both libraries for the duration of the study scheme
  • Cards may only be collected during library service hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
  • The access card is the responsibility of the student it has been issued to and can only be used by that student
  • Lost cards should be reported to library staff at the help desk of either library
  • Please return the card to library staff at the help desk at the end of the scheme

 

Library regulations

Each student should read and agree to comply with the library regulations below. Failure to abide by library regulations may result in the withdrawal of permission to access DCU Library:

  • Mobile phones must be set to silent mode in the Library   
  • Students must behave in an appropriate manner in the Library   
  • Noise should be kept to a minimum throughout the Library
  • Students must not cause any disturbance that is likely to distract or inconvenience others
  • Food is not permitted in the Library
  • Water in non-spill bottles is permitted throughout the Library
  • Printing, photocopying or scanning services are not available
  • Borrowing is not available
  • Library stock, equipment and fittings must not be damaged, defaced, removed without authorisation, concealed or otherwise interfered with
  • Access to Library PCs or laptops is not available

Wednesday 7th May - Saturday 31st May 

Monday-Friday: 8.30- midnight

Saturday: 9.30-5pm
