MA Guest Speakers Series - School of Law and Government
The MA Guest Speakers Series is a bi-weekly program of speakers on important issues in International Relations and international politics. The series features seminars and presentations by guest speakers with particular experience and expertise, be it as politicians, officials, academics, journalists, activists or diplomats, in the fields of foreign policy, conflict resolution, development, economic issues, women and workers’ rights, human rights politics and international relations. The intention is to facilitate the exploration of key issues in international politics in an informal, interactive environment.

Alyas Karmani, inter alia: Co-Director of STREET UK (Strategy to reach, educate and empower teenagers), Lecturer at Bradford and Leeds Universities (1991-1997), PhD student at London Met University, Imam and Khateeb at a number of Mosques in the North of England and across the UK, founder and current board member of JUST West Yorkshire a civil liberties and human rights campaigning organisation, head of the Bradford Independent Group (BIG) of councillors in Bradford Council and is ward councillor for Little Horton Ward.
