Ethics of Research and Innovation
Wessel worked as a PhD Researcher in the ADAPT Centre. He did a Master in Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society (cum laude) at the University of Twente with a thesis on “Critique of Digital Money”. Furthermore, he completed a bachelor in European studies at the University of Twente. He specialises in philosophy and ethics of technology, the philosophy of money and in ways in which ethics is done in STEM research projects.
Professionally, Wessel works as a researcher in the European Satori Project which focuses on the creation of a harmonised framework for ethics assessment in the EU. He completed his PhD in 2018. Wessel is now a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute Florence, Italy.
