I chose the MA in Refugee Integration Studies because of my strong commitment to social justice and my desire to contribute to the well-being of marginalised communities. This program provides a unique interdisciplinary approach, understanding and addressing the complex challenges faced by refugees.

One of the highlights of my experience at DCU was the opportunity to know more about refugee integration from an academic perspective. The diverse cohort enriched discussions, offering various perspectives on refugee issues. Additionally, MARI allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts, deepening my understanding of integration strategies.

I aspire to work with NGOs or international organisations focused on refugee integration and policy advocacy. My goal is to develop programs that foster social cohesion and provide essential support to refugees, helping them rebuild their lives in host countries.

My advice for incoming students is to actively engage with your peers and faculty. Building connections is invaluable, both for learning and for future career opportunities. Also, take advantage of internships and volunteer opportunities to gain practical experience—this will enhance your understanding and make your studies more impactful.
