Dublin City University 12th in the world for environmental sustainability
Dublin City University has improved its scores for environmental research and sustainability in the global QS Sustainability 2025 rankings, which examine how third-level institutions are tackling the world's environmental and social challenges. DCU also improved its score for environmental and social impact this year, and retained its position as fourth best institution in Ireland.
Sustainable development is a key driver for the university’s strategy, and DCU is committed to making decisions that lead to a zero-carbon organisation, and to embedding sustainability at the core of teaching and learning, research, development and innovation.

These rankings are a welcome recognition of the University’s longstanding work in the field of environmental sustainability. They position us as a world leader in this area, something we could not have achieved without the commitment and hard work of DCU staff, right across the University.
