  • Overview

In DCU Access, we operate a Cycle of Engagement offering post-primary students opportunities to engage with DCU from the Junior cycle right through to the Leaving certificate. Once in DCU, Access students receive a range of post-entry support and have an opportunity to support their younger peers as student ambassadors.

    Student Life Cycle of Engagement

The aim of our Outreach programme in DCU is to promote and increase the progression to third level education, of students most under-represented in 3rd level.

With the collaboration and support from other DCU departments, corporate and community organisations, we aim to make educational equity of access to third-level education a reality for students with fewer opportunities.

The purpose of our programmes is to:

    • Raise the aspirations of students experiencing financial and social adversity
    • Promote and increase their progression to third-level education.

Our team of Student Ambassadors plays an invaluable part in supporting our programmes and acting as positive role models to their younger peers.
