Dr. Leeanne Hinch is the academic coordinator for the Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland (CTYI). She has a B.Sc. in Science Education from Dublin City University, where she qualified as a chemistry and mathematics teacher for second-level students. She also holds a PhD in Science Education from Dublin City University, specifically focussing on the preparation of pre-service science teachers, and influencing their approaches to inquiry-based science education and assessment.
Prior to her position as academic coordinator, Dr. Hinch worked for several years as an instructor for CTYI, where she developed and taught numerous science courses for academically advanced students between the ages of 6 and 17. Dr. Hinch was a coordinator on EGIFT, an Erasmus+ funded project led by CTYI aimed at developing an online learning platform for teachers and parents of gifted students. Dr. Hinch was recently awarded the Charlemont Grant from the Royal Irish Academy for her work relating to gifted disadvantaged students. Dr. Hinch is the Irish correspondent for the European Council for High Ability, and the Irish delegate for the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children.
