    Profile Photo
    Jennifer Bruen is a Professor of Applied Linguistics and German in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, DCU, and a Senior Fellow, Advance HE. She has degrees in International Business and Languages, Political Education, German Studies and Applied Linguistics. Jennifer has published in top journals in these fields and represents them nationally and internationally on bodies such as the European Commission (EACEA), the Royal Irish Academy and the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics. 

    Jennifer's research interests are primarily in applied linguistics. They encompass language planning and policy at national and EU level, as well as various aspects of foreign language acquisition, and language teaching and learning, including the impact of study abroad and the internationalisation of Higher Education.
